My personal physician, Dr. Bob Schwartz and his wonderful bride, Mary Barrosse Schwartz, came to the house with their son Bernie to set up my very first garden! Bob has been such an important part of my recovery. Mary is the one who did a very flattering commentary on VPR about me the day that I had surgery (
Hear Mary's commentary) It is the first step toward my new independent life-style! It will also give me something to do this summer while I am healing! Thanks guys!!

I am doing much better since my episode a few weeks ago. My blood work last week was all-good for the first time in six months! I am very tired, but I am feeling much healthier now that I am off the IV antibiotics.
Basketball Camp starts today and I am lucky that I have a lot of good people helping me. Barb is up at
Brown Ledge Camp as the head riding instructor for the rest of the summer. I have been walking a mile each day, but I need lots of rest. There is no way I could pull this off without lots of help. I feel like I am (finally) on the road to recovery!
